Robert A. Edwards, DO

Dr. Edwards is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and is also a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society. He is the Director of the Center for Vein Care and Surgery of Horizons Diagnostics, the only IAC accredited (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) vein center in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Edwards provides the most advanced vein therapies available with Venaseal™ and ClosureFast™ procedures. These treatments are both proven therapies that are minimally invasive and are performed in the office. With over 5000 closure procedures, he and his team are dedicated to alleviating your symptoms and restoring healthy legs and a healthy life.

Dr. Edwards is originally from Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. Dr. Edwards then attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and graduated with honors. He completed his general surgery residency and served as Chief Surgical Resident at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Edwards has served on the Board of Directors of Horizons Diagnostics from 2005 to present and was recently elected President of the group, replacing Dr. Robert Bush in January 2020.
